A TIME FOR ACTION
A global pandemic sets the world into tumult - people are scared, people are sick, and people are searching for a way to help when they feel helpless. THIS is your time to act! THIS is the time to choose fight over flight. THIS is your time to create a RIPPLE EFFECT.
We want to share 3 stories of courageous women across the Southeast who are contributing to these trying times. We hope you are inspired by their actions to find a way of your own to give back.
Lezli - is a long time fan of Clayne Crawford and a wonderful member of the CCF community. She exudes positive energy in her social media interactions and has a big heart for giving back. When she saw the need for masks to be made and distributed faster than the typical channels could handle production - she set down to work. Though she usually lends her master hand to quilting, Lezli turned her production dial to Patriot and handmade over 100 face masks (and counting) to be mailed or picked up. She is still going!
Ashley - is a dear friend of the CCF community. She lives for her hikes and trail wanderings on the weekends. However, with many parks being closed, Ashley decided to switch up her activity itinerary. An active volunteer for multiple programs in Alabama, Ashley signed up for yet another mission - to sew face masks. The only hang up was…she didn’t know how to sew! With her passion for giving and determination to learn something new, Ashley started rocking her stockpile of supplies and soon had plenty of masks to give!
Michelle - has a story that we hope will continue towards a happy ending. Like many Americans during this difficult period, Michelle lost her job. She took a few days in COVID-quarantine to grieve, but wouldn’t let this hiccup stop her. A crafter, like Lezli, Michelle works wonders with a sewing machine. So, she set down with donated and scrap supplies and has now even had folks ordering her homemade masks!
This crisis is unnerving for us all. In this time of challenge, we encourage you to lean in to the energy of giving when you feel it. If it’s helping a neighbor with their yard work, flipping a distillery to a sanitizer production queue, even simply assisting someone in figuring out Zoom - NOW is the time for ACTION, and the more we do now to take care of each other, the smoother transition we’ll have to a new normal after this storm subsides.
