2020 In Review
Let’s start the New Year strong! 2020 was a tumultuous time for our country as a whole, but at CCF, we want to thank each and every one of you who participated in our efforts to raise funds and awareness for Alabama non-profits.
Over the last year, we initiated a partnership with Blue Spring Living Water to help Alabamians and people all over America (within their shipping jurisdictions) to experience truly fresh, natural spring water. We were so excited to find this group in AL and to know that (seriously the best-tasting) water this pure came right from our home state! We hope you’ll visit their site and try it for yourself.
We also partnered with 4 local charities to focus on the future of AL’s children. Reach Out and Read “prescribes” free books to kiddos at their check-ups through age 5. Your donations helped them sustain programming and payroll through COVID-19 shutdowns. A group of CCF donors even built 3 Little Free Libraries to distribute and filled them to the brim with donated books! Look out for more news on where those libraries are being placed in communities around Birmingham.
Our work with Childcare Resources and The Childrens Village is dear to our hearts as they focus on educating and caring for Alabama’s little ones. Donors from across the world gave generously to supply these groups with essential items such as school and cleaning supplies - we wish you could all hear the resounding “thank yous” that flood the rooms when we visit these buildings to present your donations. They will continue to need your help, so be sure to scroll through our Directory to check in on their current needs.
Similarly, we are proud to announce that the WellHouse reached their goal of breaking ground on the foundation for WellChild in 2020 - a new chapter of their home for trafficking survivors where minors under the age of 18 will be able to receive rehabilitative services. January is Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month, so be on the lookout for social media shares of education tools and infographics on how you can help these survivors have a brighter future.
In retrospect, amid the wild times the world faced, the CCF team was grateful to have your support - especially during our attempt at a Virtual Pig Out Picnic. Y’all raised an amazing amount, by the way! We had to adjust our goals to fit the times, but we look forward to continuing our work with AL communities to shed light on non-profits and non-profit relief. Thank you for another year of growth! Let’s keep building something great together!
